Simranjeet Kaur
Trained as a journalist, Simran stumbled into the field of education by chance—but chose to stay by choice. She’s currently a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Education at Brock University, Canada, and a sociocultural researcher who’s always curious about the ‘how’ behind the ‘why.’ On a journey to connect theory with practice, and to learn alongside students, communities, and colleagues, Simran has gathered a mix of experiences over the years. She’s worked on curriculum development for ECE centres with the Government of NCT Delhi, helped build capacity for educators in Bihar, India on a UNICEF-funded project, and supported various research projects in Canada. Her PhD work uses visual, participatory methods to explore the everyday lives and identities of children living in a slum in New Delhi, India.
