Marina is Brazilian, based in Scotland, and currently an interdisciplinary doctoral researcher at the School of Education, College of Social Sciences, University of Glasgow. In her research, Marina is keen to learn from communities involved in ecomuseums and to understand how ecomuseums practices can challenge the singular and linear logic of heritage conservation by engaging in anti-colonial practices. She seeks alternatives to the dominant Western-centric approach to heritage, emphasizing connections that prioritize co-creation and collaboration, fostering practices that are fluid, relational, ethical and sustainable.

Marina is a guest visiting lecturer at the MPhil Textile Conservation, University of Glasgow and has worked with international charities as well as various heritage and conservation organisations in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom.
