Background
This symposium co-hosted by Sustainable Futures Global and Friedrich-Alexander-Universität will bring together leadership and membership from across SFG network to strengthen capacities, build initiatives, and nurture partnerships in the broad area of education for sustainable futures. This includes attention to the work of cultural and ecological organisations in engaging with communities; development organisations in enabling communities; and formal educational organisations in equipping learners for our current times and expected futures.
Sustainable Futures Global leads and supports work that contributes to equitable and sustainable futures through meaningful partnerships. This symposium is designed to support practices and possibilities in the wide range of learning and engagement contexts needed in sustainability and equity development. At the symposium, the academic arenas of the natural sciences, social sciences, and arts will interweave with knowledges and practices from farming, community and youth work, and from cultural practices, governance, and policy contexts.
Across five days, the symposium will welcome long-standing partners and members as well as new connections and colleagues. Presentations and workshops will take place alongside project meetings, networking events, and strategic planning sessions.
Programme
The programme has been planned in collaboration with the hosting team in Germany, as well as partners across the globe. To allow for strategic planning and sustaining partnerships, some sessions are restricted to Sustainable Futures Global members and guests, while others are open to general admission, upon registration.

Registration
At this stage, registration is open to SFG members and invited guests. We’ll be opening General Admission in March 2026 and look forward to welcoming a wider community then.
Registration includes participation to all activities, coffee breaks, lunches and entry to the partnership/networking event.
