I am a geologist from Germany, working as a Postdoc at the University of Erlangen. I studied my B.Sc. in Bremen (Northern Germany) and did my M.Sc. and PhD in Bergen (Norway).
My research is mainly in the field of tectonics and structural geology and involves different methods such as geological field mapping or radiometric dating. The recent focus is on building a detailed geological 3D model of the underground in Northern Bavaria, which can be used to address different issues of societal importance (e.g., geothermal energy production). Before my studies, I spent one year as a volunteer in South Africa and during my B.Sc. I did an internship in South Sudan, evaluating the effects of water boreholes on disadvantaged communities. I am interested in many topics at the intersection of the environment and our (global) society, in particularly in the field of (plastic) recycling, sustainable building, etc. I think the SFA network would be a great platform to connect with people of different background but similar interests.
