Kevin Aanyu
Kevin Aanyu is a Lecturer at the Department of Geology and Petroleum Studies (College of Natural Sciences, Makerere University). Her PhD study, done at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz-Germany, involved investigating the role of fault distribution and kinematics in the uplift of rift flanks around the Rwenzori mountains, located within the western branch of the East African Rift System.
Dr. Aanyu’s research interests have mainly been in Structural geology & Tectonics. In the past few years her interests have expanded into integrating geology, the environment and communities, and petroleum geoscience fields such as tectonostratigraphy and general basin analysis. Kevin supervises graduate research students and trains both graduate and undergraduate students in geology & petroleum geoscience field courses and in field geologic mapping.
