
Peter Jiyajiya
Peter is an academic and researcher focusing on environmental and climate change discourse, development communication, NGO-Community engagement practices. In his work, he places primacy on the critical role of language in mediating the engagement practices to ensure sustainability, both in terms of project sustainability and environmental sustainability. Currently, Peter is pursuing a PhD in English Language and Linguistics in the School of Critical Studies at University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK, where his research project is examining the emergent discourse practices in the engagement between Cadecom and the communities in Neno district, and the implication of the engagement practices on participation and sustainability. This is an ethnographic research that is following on the Carbon trading project that Cadecom is implementing in Neno.
