
Rebecca N. Lekoko
Professor of Adult Education specializing in community development and lifelong learning, Prof Lekoko is a member of the Global Expert Network of Business Fights Poverty responsible for providing expert advice to companies and organisations addressing social and environmental challenges, as part of a trusted global network convened by Business Fights Poverty. Prof is also a co-founder of Ageless Inspirations Charitable Organization and Director of the University of the Third Age in Botswana, both addressing age-friendly services of the older adults, 55 years and over. U3A niche is the silver economy, lifelong learning, capacity building and lifeskills for older adults.
As a professor in adult education, she is also prominent in addressing issues of social mobilisation strategies, inclusive policies, education for marginalised groups like people with disabilities and older adults. Currently, her research has been in senior entrepreneurship, poverty and capacity building. Her flagship publications include Facilitators’ Resource Book for Out of School Education for Children; Economic Empowerment for Older Adults; Lifelong Learning for Africa’s older adults, just to mention few. She has published extensively and continues to research in the areas lifelong learning, community development and non-formal education.
