
Sola Ajayi
Prof Sola Ajayi is an agricultural scientist with more than 20 years research and management experience in Nigeria, South Africa, Austria, Germany and United Kingdom.
Prof Ajayi has vast research and industry experience in seed industry development and agricultural policy dialogue. He has published widely on seed science and technology, crop field agronomy with a focus on improving crop productivity through germplasm conservation and enhancement, and on the impact of climate change on food security. He has worked on different crops ranging cereals, legumes, vegetables and fruit species and participated in several national and continental agricultural policy dialogues on seed industry development, improving crop productivity and increasing farmers’ income; managed several country-level projects for national and international organizations like the Federal Ministries of Environment and of Agriculture; the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Prof Ajayi has trained several undergraduate and postgraduate students; fluent in Yoruba, English, and German.
