This unit invites educators to expand their understanding of literacy as more than reading and writing skills. Literacies are explored as relational, place-based, and sustainability-focused practices that connect learners to their communities, environments, and multiple ways of knowing. The framework of the pluriverse guides this exploration.

- Describe the pluriverse as a conceptual framework for education;
- Critically reflect on the limitations of Eurocentric approaches to literacy;
